Freedom Tales is operated by Freedom Tales. This page explains what we collect, who we share it with, and how to have it removed.

What we collect

Who we share it with

To generate the story, what you type — and the story so far — is sent to the language model providers whose models are narrating: Anthropic and, for some models, OpenRouter (which itself routes to the provider of whichever model is in use). These providers process your input to generate a response; we do not permit them to use it to train their models outside the terms of our agreements with them.

Payments are handled by Stripe. Email delivery is handled by our transactional email provider.

We do not sell your data.

Content moderation

Freedom Tales gives the model real latitude in how a story unfolds, including letting characters refuse or deflect in character. That is not the same as no limits: certain categories of harmful content are refused regardless of how a scene is framed, as described in our terms. A more thorough automated check on what is typed, before it is stored, is planned but not yet built — see our public roadmap for status.

How long we keep things

Your playthroughs and account are kept until you delete them. Records of what was charged and when are kept for as long as accounting law requires, even after you delete your account — with your name, email and story content removed from those records, so what remains is a ledger entry, not a record about you.

Deleting your account

Deleting your account removes your playthroughs, journal entries, canon, photographs, sign-in history and active sessions. It does not remove billing ledger rows, for the reason above, and does not remove backups until they naturally expire.

Your rights

If you are in the EU/EEA, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data, and to object to certain processing. To exercise any of these, contact us at the address given in the app.

We use one cookie to keep you signed in, and, before you sign in, one anonymous cookie to remember which landing page you arrived through. Neither is used for advertising, and no third-party tracking script runs on this site.
